How I Help
I help people escape the sufferring that comes from living without meaning. Here are some of the consequences of living without meaning:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Boredom
- Lonliness
- Existential dread
- Addiction
- Procrastination
- Impulsivity
- Low motivation
- Fatigue
- Health problems
- Insomnia
Basically, if you don’t know why your life matters, you’ll be living well below your potential in so many ways.
How do you know if you’re truly living with meaning?
Ask yourself these questions. If you can confidently answer each one and you feel good about your answers, you likely have a strong sense of meaning. If you struggle to find a clear answer to any of these, you can likely trace the lines back to one or more of the issues on the list above.
- What do I want to exist even if I didn’t exist?
- Does my life make a difference toward it?
- Is it something that’s real?
- Does it matter to anyone else?
If you had a hard time with any of those questions, let’s chat. I can help you create a life of meaning and fulfillment.
COMMON MESSAGES I HEAR
(I’ve also felt most of these myself at one point or another)
I don’t feel motivated
I get up each day and go through the motions, but I don’t enjoy it. I do fun things, but they seem meaningless most of the time. I wish I had the passion back that I did when I was younger.
I feel disconnected
I love my kids and my wife, but at the same time, I feel like I can’t offer what they need. I’m exhausted, impatient, and easily angered. I wish I was more in love with my wife and had more to give my kids and family.
I feel burned out by work
I have a good job that pays the bills, but I hate what I do. I’ve worked hard to get here, but the grind has worn me out and I don’t enjoy it like I used to. I dread Sunday nights before I have to get up on Monday to clock in.
I’ve let myself go physically
I used to be in great shape. I had lots of energy and could do anything I wanted. Now I feel like I eat too much, sleep too little, don’t have good habits or balance, and I just feel crappy all the time.
I’m stuck in bad habits
I feel like I’ve picked up some ugly habits and addictions over the years for various reasons, but mostly because I wasn’t confident in myself or didn’t know who I really was. I feel a lot undisciplined and trapped and a lot of shame.
I feel impatient and angry
I lose my temper with my family, coworkers, or just about anyone way too often and too easily. I just feel irritable and defensive all the time.
The simple solution…
The methodolgy is simple. I bring a no-nonsense, down to earth approach to solving significant problems. No crazy woo woo stuff and nothing that will take a PhD to figure out. Just common-sense explanations to practices and approaches that will get you beyond yourself and into a better state of being.
I’ll be honest, there isn’t a magic bullet, a quick fix, or a shortcut to solve these and other challenges and roadblocks in life.
But the good news is that if you’re 100% committed to changing your life for the better, I can guide you to discover and resolve the root cause of the problems that are holding you back using pragmatic, down to earth skills and tools that don’t require a degree in psychology or a belief in pseudoscientific teachings.
