Evidence-based
All my methodologies and practices are supported by peer-reviewed articles that show statistically significant results.
This means you can have confidence that working with me will get you real results and not just transitory or placebo effects.
Time-tested
Even for scientifically supported practices, I beleive to be effective, we need to use tools that have evolved over centuries and been refined into practices taught by many cultural, religious, or wisdom traditions.
Whatever your cultural or religious background, many principles and practices appear over and over again. Gratitude, journaling, prayer, meditation, connecting with nature, rights of passage, and even our daily routines have basis in scripture, ancient texts, folklore, and other cultural traditions that give credence to their utility beyond just science.
Pragmatic
No matter how effective an approach is, if it’s not something we can implement in a simple manner, we won’t do it. My approach boils down the core elements of various practices to their fundamentals and then we work together to find a practical, pragmatic, and realistic way for you to incorporate them into your life in a way that meets your needs.
Nothing will change until you do
You can’t just pick up a few self-help books, watch a few TED talks on YouTube, and then expect to have the skills and knowledge you need to get the most out of life. Even if you have the knowledge, you most likely won’t even implement half of it.
Research teaches us that working with someone trained in personal change to hold us accountable is fundamental to making changes in life. The bottom line here is that you need a coach, I need a coach, we all need coaches of some kind or another to reach our full potential. Whether you hire a professional coach or therapist or attempt to find a friend or mentor to help you is your choice, but the only people I trust to help me are those trained in the art and science of personal change and those who have no personal motives other than to see me succeed.
More about the program
I hesitate to even call it a program. My approach to coaching is based on fundamental principles of living a good life applied in a simple and clear manner but everything is based on where you’re at, what you want to achieve and how motivated and dedicated you are to the process.
That being said, most my clients work with me for about 12 weeks and spend the majority of our time working on the fundamentals listed below:
- Core identity
- Personal values
- Identifying meaning
- Identifying purpose
- Identifying the influence of the ego
- Identifying and replacing unhelpful thoughts and beliefs
- Cultivating curiosity, gratitude, and awe
- Improving relationships
- Finding meaningful pursuits
- Improving physical health
- Breaking addictive patterns and habits
- Developing charsima, confidence, and influence
- Improving financial health
We will build the right priorities for you based on what you most want out of life. Rest assured, working with me as your coach will be exciting, inspiring, challenging, and rewarding and will change your life for the better.
Does the program have a primary objective?
After helping many people as well as many decades working through my own growth process with coaches and metors, I’ve observed that almost all our desired outcomes in life can be boiled down to one overarching goal: Living a Legacy. That may sound off the mark at first, but look a little closer at it and see what I see. A legacy is all about having a positive influence on the world around you. I’ve never met anyone who doesn’t desire that in some sense or another. Whether you want to be the best father you can be, build the largest corporation you can, or just not be miserable all the time, life is about finding a purpose that motivates you, creating meaning around it, and living toward that meaning as best you know how.
The objective of Down To Earth Coaching is to help you get clarity in life and equip you with all the skills and tools necessary to get after that clarity as best you can.
